		<description>The situation in Britain is slightly different, in that the majority of museums are sponsored by the state, i.e. national or local government, so we&#039;re not quite to so beholden to individual trustees etc. to pander to their requests.  

That&#039;s not to say we don&#039;t have enthusiastic locals trying to interfere and I&#039;m sure every curator has a horror story of &#039;other curators&#039; who have run their department or museum like their own private fiefdom.</description>
